guitar solos on strats should be played with your head leaning forward over the guitar. on a les paul your head should be thrown back leaning away from it.
    Sg's. ?

It's important to have arbitrary weight limits for your guitars. Say 8lb for a strat/tele and 9lb 8oz for a les Paul.

Because when  you find the best sounding, best playing les Paul of your life that weighs 9lb 10oz you can pass it by! ;)

Gibson into Marshall is the best tone, this is fact. Tele into marshall is ok though.

Sadly it doesn't stay in tune now, needs a refret, has some significant warping, and the truss rod is knackered

    EMG pickups are for metal.
I generally work on the rule that you should avoid any metal band that uses emg

Plenty of young bands use Marshall amps.

That is because they are plentiful at the Free cycle depots...

When your strings sound dead there's no need to buy a new set. Just put the old ones in a pan of water and boil them for 15 minutes.

I actually knew people who did this, but it was a very long time ago.

Getting a pan big enough to get my Strat in has always prevented me from trying this....

I've heated bass strings in vinegar before and they came out like brand new - helpful when you're skint and bass strings are expensive.

I actually did this a few times many years ago and it does work, the strings do come out sounding a lot brighter for the brief time before they snap.  Probably more as a result of removing and replacing than the actual boiling.  Had good success with bass strings though!

I've heard rubbing alcohol is good to clean them, and from somewhere Windex works?!
