The next nearest we've boycotted - it used to be our regular but their chips were very hit and miss (I'm not a chip fan but Mrs Fab is) and she asked to try one chip before deciding whether to order them or go for noodles. They kicked up an almighty fuss in front of the other customers, despite the fact that we were in there twice a week at least, so fuck them.
Next nearest is too greasy again. Next one is run by Romanians and is very nice but anything sweet is bonkers sweet... like Can of syrup sweet.
Sorry... what was the thread about? ....oh yes... favourite dishes...
Singapore vermicelli noodles, chicken in chilli black bean sauce, chicken fried rice, Kung po king prawn (nobody near me does a remotely decent version sadly), Singapore chow mien, chicken & mushroom curry extra hot, crispy beef, but my all time fave is salt & pepper/chilli crispy chicken.
Chips are "Plant-based" no matter how you cook them

there is nowhere to get Chinese food that is anything remotely like PROPER Chinese food outside Soho and even then a lot of it is nothing like the real thing.
There is actually no such thing as Chow Mein -it's an American made up westernised thing like Chicken Masala is to Indian food.
Oh,except at the big Chinese supermarket Wing Yip in Cricklewood/Neasden
Ducks webs and Sea Slug
Wind Dried Duck
Abalone and Gai Lan in Oyster Sauce
Tripe in Garlic and Black Bean
Chicken Gizzard in Soy and Sea spice
.......That's more typical Cantonese
Northern Chinese food ,HAN and Hunanese is totally different ...they never see rice that far North it's all Winter Buckwheat Noodles in broth or Hot pots of Pigs Trotters and Sausage.
Szechuan food is hotter than most Thai with lots of sauces made from Nuts.
Some very good Vietnamese restaurants in London now though - authentic bowls of PHO
i really wish it was either great or total shit. Might force me to make a decision either way.
There is another a mile away that's pretty good but we tend to stick to the close one because we can pick up within 10 minutes

From one slightly further away ... I usually go for Singapore Noodles or Chicken Chow Mein, with something Kung Po (prawns usually).
Local Chinese restaurant has closed recently too

not been able to have it for 7 years now, since almost all Chinese food contains gluten (since soy sauce is 25% wheat)
I don't eat rice or noodles any more, and I'm sure there's a fair bit of sugar in the duck and crispy beef, but I pretend it's not there. I only have it once or twice a year anyway.
Singapore rice noodles, quick fried chicken in salt and pepper dips, in the real world.
Had some good street food though in various nutty places, looks like you will get the shits, but usually the tastiest stuff.
Saw one place cooking what I thought were beetroots, they were all hanging on hooks at the stall, appealed to the vegetarian I am. Until I realised that actually theu weren;t beetroots at all, no, they were bollocks
