I went to a banquet dinner in Hong Kong at the Tsim Sha Tsui center ,the main course was called;
" Grand Heavenly Combination of Dragon,Tiger and Phoenix " 
I realised that Phoenix was out of Season and that Dragons were quite hard to come by so I asked the maitre d' what it was ;
 Phoenix ; Guinea Fowl
 Dragon '; Snake
 Tiger   ;    Cat 
 Tasted pretty bloody good tho'

I think I would eat a cat even if it tasted bad.  I am fairly sure my cats would be rubbing themselves on my ankles asking for scraps as i did.  Just this once, i would let them have it
