Yes, I saw that, but I quite like the boring natural wood coloured look.

I'd  go for a doer uppa too as I like the challenge. Your blue one is too good.

Back atcha - you may have noticed my blue Pantera X390 is up for sale...

Ooh, I was looking at that lustfully. You must be just round the corner from me as I’m in Horsham too.

My first guitar was a Westone Thunder I-A. £80 second hand in 1985.  That's about £230 in today's money, which will get you a decent plank these days.  Back then, not so much.  The alternative was a Marlin Sidewinder.  I think I made the right choice, although nostalgia tempts me to pick up a Sidewinder - the first guitar I never had.

I still have the Westone, although I haven't played it in years.  It's not exactly pristine, but not in such bad nick as Harry's was when he picked it up.  I swapped out the original brass knobs for pentagonal, jazz bass style ones.  I wish I could remember what I'd done with them as I'd really like to swap them back.  I rarely throw that sort of thing away so they're probably in a 'tat' box up in the loft somewhere.  I've never managed to find a replacement, they're all either domed or too narrow.

This is one of the few guitars in my collection it would probably be worthwhile selling on, but I could never part with it. :s

I've had a few 1A's in my time, but if buying again would look for the plain old "1". I think that in the modern age of pedals, having another on-board amp with it's own switch on the guitar switch is just a bit un-necessary.
    But that's probably just me...

These days I just want the simple volume and tone knobs on the guitar.

And most of the time I can live without the tone knob, too.
