  • My all time favourite wah is the RMC Picture Wah. If I were to advise you to buy any wah it would be it

However, have a close look at the Buddy Guy Cry Baby. The Buddy mode on it is wutbiut doubt the sweetest sounding clean wah I've ever heard and the other mode brings a bit more mids for higher gain

If you're only going to play modern lead then a Cantrell is a good vintage-modern option.

The Picture Wah absolutely nails what I think a wah should sound like though

Just been on a Wah fest myself in past 3 weeks and I have concluded that it is the Wah operator that is the key to a good Wah sound.
This.  The more I use a wah the more I'm convinced it's the player not the pedal a lot of the time, the thing is endless.  The technique required to play Shaft is not just wacka-wacka, that guy had skills.  Switch to Voodoo Chile, completely different skills.  It is a ridiculous pedal.  Ditto Billy Duffy on The Phoenix,  Edge on The Fly, etc etc etc.
