I think that depends on how you cook it. In our family we have on some occasions revolted and deliberately not had turkey. One year we had a massive lump of roast beef, on another rather memorable occasion we had a duck, and chicken for them that didn't want duck.

I'm going with the trad turkey and trimmings for my ultimate fave, but every now and then I push the boat out and try something completely different. It depends on whether I have time. I enjoy cooking if time is available, otherwise it'll be the usual fare.

I did a turkey galantine one year, which involved boning the turkey (oooh, that was fun), stuffing it (equally pleasurable), and rolling it (yeah, yeah). This year, I think I might do an Asian-inspired, slow-cooked leg of lamb, which could turn into an Indian raan if my mum is still in rehab over Christmas.

Another fan of a bit of crisped up bubble and squeak.

The winner for me is sausage meat mixed with sage and onion stuffing.

    Roll on Christmas din dins.

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

Actually, I was thinking of a Raymond Blanc recipe where he does slow-cooked shin of beef, but with lamb instead.

    Aye the whole lot.
Black pudding and salmon starters, roast turkey dinner with goose fat roast tatties, Yorkie puds and skirlie. My g/f makes amazing skirlie.
Sprouts are fab, folk that don't like them were probably force fed overcooked and oversalted mush when they were kids and have never had them proper cooked. I like frying them off at the end with pancetta.
    Honey roast parsnips!!
We're having gammon as well and there's only the two of us!

    Bailey's for breakfast of course.

    The trad spread is awesome.

As well as Sprouts with bacon & chestnuts, chestnut stuffing (my own), Turkey and Ham pie, Turkey curry.
Imagine something sharp and witty here ......
