I don’t remember any support for the teachers, quite the opposite in fact. The parents of my school told the HT that all fund raising and volunteering would cease with immediate effect. The PTA raises £18k a year for the school and relies heavily on parental support. 

I don’t remember my colleagues with kids at other schools supporting the teachers either, I remember them being absolutely fucking livid though, especially those with fines for taking the kids out of school during term.
