but i will get neither because i am evil and jesus doesn't want me for a sunbeam.

so i have treated myself to a nice new dryer & tongs, a romantic b&w 1950s euro-arthouse dvd, brian cox's 'universal' (which have already started reading as i have no self control), and two bags of lidl's finest italian fresh chestnuts, which i will eat in bed as i watch the dvd (tummyache incoming).

i will also decide on who gets my charity donation, which is something i think about on christmas day and do on christmas evening every year. last year syria was big in my thoughts so i did heart http://heartelt.org/
this year i might split between a uk homeless project and an animal project. dunno.

but basically life is f*cking ace. i lived another year on this amazing planet. i didn't die or get badly sick or beaten up. so maybe a trite-sounding thing to say but i am just happy to be alive.

I have learnt over many years that what I want to be under the tree and what actually is under the tree are never as extravagant or expensive as my tastes; it’s a good way of teaching me to be more grateful and less greedy.
