How many wives/partners/girlfriends think that we are nuts and "why do you need so many guitars...I bet nobody else has that many guitars....." as I've had put to me on numerous occasions.

but then my only defence can be why do you need so many pairs of shoes/handbags? lol

    97 Musicman Axis
    25th Anniversary Heritage H535
    JXG Guitars DC LP Jr
    GSPBasses Vodoo Strat (Main Guitar)
MIJ Charvel SoCal (does need sorting)

Yamaha FS720S (which if I’m being honest is there to say that I’ve got an acoustic, never actually gets played)

EBMM USA SUB Sterling Bass. Refretted with Dunlop 6000’s by Feline.

Truth be told I could probably ditch it all except the Jr, The Strat and the SUB bass and not really feel the loss...

Currently have nine in my care, but two aren't mine and one of mine is for sale. So seven, hopefully six before too long.

Oh wait, my Squier Jazzmaster and my first guitar (more of an ornament now) are both back at my parents' house... so technically that's another two, although neither get any use from me any more. Sentimental value stops them being sold.

So, stuff that's mine and gets used - six. Four electrics, an acoustic and a bass.

    Hmmmm...I really can’t remember.

Last count was 160-ish, but that was a while ago and numerous guitars have come and gone since then.

May be more, may be less.

    Basses - perhaps 10-ish.

Acoustics - none, because I don’t like ‘em.

HarrySeven - Intangible Asset Appraiser & Wrecker of Civilisation. Searching for weird guitars - so you don't have to.

How do you keep so many guitars - I mean space wise? And I really hope you wipe 'em all down and keep on top with the regular string changes! ;)

  • You guys are a bad influence... I started this thread on the 22nd...
    I then had 1:1:0.

Now I have 1:1:1 (I bought a bass on Xmas Eve)
plus i now have 2 partscaster builds on progress. (I have bodies and necks, but the festive post is slowing down the arrival of hardware).

  • 5:3:1, although one of the electrics is disassembled right now, and I really don't care for the bass. It needs too much work to be worth it at this point.

    Atlas Star Sapphire
    Atlas Eternity
    Atlas Telstar Deluxe
    Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion III
    Partscaster thinline tele

    Heikki Rousou OM-model (swedish builder)
    Levin Dansant archtop
Unknown parlour guitar used for slide stuff mostly

    Kasuga defretted bass.

Oh, and one more Atlas and one more acoustic Levin that are on an extended loan with my father. Quite a collection of really fine instruments I realize when I look at it this way. I'm only allowed to have three out at the same time, so most of them are stored in my closet.

    Also 2 ukuleles.

Trying hard to resist buying a Gretsch electromatic with bigsby but can't justify it lol.
