Best book you've ever read?

What's Hot
Looking to read some great books over Christmas, any personal favourites? Any genre

My personal shout is 1984 by George Orwell. I would put it up there was one of the greatest pieces of art ever created.

guess if I had to chose one, I think probably Phillp Pullman's Dark Materials trilogy. Or American Gods by Neil Gaiman. I realise that's 4 books, but I never could keep to the brief.

Possibly "The Idiot" by Dostoyevsky. Failing that "The Master and Margarita" by Mikhail Bulgakov (seeing a Russian theme here?) and also possibly "Atonement" by Ian McEwan.
