Why does everyone hate 2015 Gibson Les Pauls so much ??

I had a 2015 Standard with the asymmetric neck and it was a nice guitar - well made, stayed in tune, no issues.  I also had a 2015 Studio which was equally good.  I sold them both because I read all the negative comments and believed that I had two bad guitars.

Unfortunately I couldn’t deal with the neck. It was comfortable in your hand but I found it very difficult / impossible to play a lot of my bands songs. 

Tuners didn’t work very well and are unintuitive to use but could be replaced so no big deal

It was perfect but the tuners didn't work and you couldn't play it because of the neck?!

Yeah, yeah.. everything else was great tho. Quite sad really

After seeing all the internet vitriol back when they were launched. I spent an afternoon with a 2015 LP Standard in my local guitar emporium. From what I can remember.

The neck was weird. More like the neck on my £30 Barnes & Mullins classical than a shred guitar. Also the frets were tiny. Just seemed daft.

The Robot Tuners were an interesting idea. But they looked cheap. As the Transperformance system was many hundreds of dollars to buy. Plus required the guitar to be modified. I wasn't filled with confidence. Then the guitar went out of tune...and stayed out. Because the new strings had t been stretched properly was my guess. I rarely get tuning issues at gigs. So to me, it was a solution to q problem I didn't have.

So I walked out the door and figured the internet was right on this one.

i will say the finish was really high quality. I don't know if it's just a nitro top coat nowadays. But my 2017 LP Classic is flawless compared to the other Gibsons I've owned. Anyone more technical care to explain why post 2015, the finishes seem to have improved?
