Bloody hell, how much time do people spend hoovering?

From Argos, we got a Vax Tempo for about 50 quid, had it 3 years with no trouble.

I do all the hoovering here at Tottering Towers, upstairs Wednesdays, downstairs Fridays, and I have to empty it every few weeks.

In fairness, we have no animals.

Vax Tempo???? Vax Tempo!!!???? Bloody luxury! Luxury I tell you!

When I were a lad we used to have to pick up dust with discarded pieces of sellotape. And then for tea, we'd eat the bits of dust off the sellotape. The youth of today? Never had it so good!

(Cue a series of "When I were a lad" responses....)

Interesting that they gave the Vax Blade a score of 5/5.

I took ours back after a week because it was absolute crap.

Got a vax from home bargains for £50 and its really surprisingly good.  Better than our Dyson ever was at picking up stuff before it went bang(should see amount of crap It took out carpets).

even the hose reaches whole staircase where as Dyson did half if lucky.

We know more about hoovers and toasters than guitars.

    I object to that.

I'm reasonably au fait with washing machines too.

has anyone nominated Miele cat'n'dog yet - thought so. Get one of those.

These are the best you can get though without a doubt, better than Kirby.

Don’t underestimate how we feel about our vacuums.

Actually it’s  probably just that everyone owns one. So potentially the whole forum could have replied.

I'm well endowed in the sucking department!

My parents had a cylinder type (Henry size) of the Kirby Idea that spays paint, wet n' dry vacume, lots of accesories for furniture, linolium, carpet, stairs etc.  It's in my shed but looks great.

In the house I still have a 15 year old Hoover (brand) upright, blue see through with washable HEPA flters. I don't enjoy the handle conversion to a hose thing  but It's not a bad machine that won't die.

I have a Workshop vac/dust collector similar to that posted by @Roland and when I need to descale the inside of the car I hook that up to an adapter and reduce the 4" hose to standard hoover and use all the fancy attachments. Nothing withstands that for long and cleaning the car carpets has never been easier.

I bet none of you thought I sucked so much!
