    E&OE.

Please note: the bits inside do NOT rattle when I do NOT shake the case.

    My feedback thread is here.

It's like an episode of Storage Wars!

I'm almost tempted, if only to sell it on in the same condition in another six years for £2,000

So.. you're probably buying a case and a photo of a guitar?

I don't know that I buy his story about scarcity either - they weren't that hard to get. Good guitars tho :)

so what happens if I open the case to check the guitar - does it devalue the package ? - What if the guitar is not there, broken or the wrong guitar ? - Intriguing

It’s like that youtube video of the guy who bought a cased guitar at an auction and he opened it and there was a Les Paul inside.

So the guitar is there and also not there until the case is opened? Then it becomes one or the other.

And of course the new owner dies from breathing in the cyanide which was an essential part of Shrödinger’s original thought experiment...
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

    For only a Grand.
Not a bad mark up for a mildly tarted up Fender MIM Standard Telecaster with a waterslide Paisley decal and a black/white/black scratchplate.

I could not remember the original MSRP. A quick Interweb trawl produced a Reverb pre-owned guide price page. £450 to just shy of £600.

IMO, showing the box, the case and a borrowed generic product photograph is duplicitous. It reminds me of the restaurant scene in the film Brazil. Patrons look at laminated photographs of gourmet meals whilst devouring something that resembles moist cat food.

'Reluctant sale' yet he's never bothered to take it out the box. :o

Another of seller's guitars has H7 written all over it -

I'll make an offer if the seller accepts payment in a sealed cardboard box.

Will him opening the case actually decrease the value to some pedantic collectors?

I paid ~550 for mine including a Hiscox, iirc.

Who would order a guitar from the US and NOT open the case to check that it's what they ordered and isn't damaged in any way?

In the words of Victor Meldrew, what language are you speaking, it appears to be bollocks!

Well, you could always swap that for one of the eBay vendor's thirty years old England football shirts. ;)

I got this response when I requested pics

Hi Jon, if I open the case it is no longer "unopened" or new. The buyer is welcome to open the case on point of purchase when collecting it. The hardcase and box aren't damaged so why would the guitar be?
    Thank you

Do guitar collectors actually place value on a case being unopened?

I know collectors can be weird but I've never heard of that one.

Is a collector really wanting a Mexican fender from 6 years ago anyway? Not exactly vintage lol
