My goodness I hate that riff. Adding more notes over the top doesn’t help at all.

Just played this over breakfast and the Mrs sang  ' this is boring so so so boring ' over the riff and to be honest after about a minute I had to agree with her. Shame as GG is amazing

I thought that was Oasis drum-fill intros.

Having stood in front of Deep Purple at the Royal Albert Hall ... with The Late, great John Lord blasting out behind SOTW this ... this is the biggest pile of vacuous, ego tripping, steaming dog turd I've heard in many a long year. Truly depressing.

I didn’t like it much but those guys sure can play guitar.

EDIT: Except the bassist. The bassist is worse than me (and I suck).

    Not for me, either.
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

Come back Ed Sheeran ....all is forgiven
The original sounds awful enough 45 years down the line ...........this guitar wankery on a theme is even worse.
But ,I do like to see a keyboard player wearing a white Tux ,should be compulsory ;the vibe is that he just finished a cocktail Lounge residency at the Colony Club down the road and swapped Cole Porter's Deep Purple for another beast of the same name.
Make mine a Lychee Martini ,vey dry and leave the Olive in.There's a good fellow .

I've seen this before. This time I got 7 seconds in before the bassist made me laugh out loud.

The bit with the guitar pretending to be the singing was bad enough, then the bassist fell down the stairs, as so aptly put by JB. Do people actually like listening to this? Really famous songs with the, you know, "song" part. I'm pretty sure the word "song" comes from the word "sing".

    I'd rather listen to U2...

As a personal opinion, this sort of 'dying aardvark wails' and 'thirty notes a second wankery' guitar 'playing' makes my large intestine want to migrate up my throat and strangle me. It's 'trick' guitar playing to impress other guitarists only, and it's about as tasteful as a cartoon of Mother Teresa in stockings and suspenders.
