^ Yes, that's an interesting observation.  There's no escape from everyone's scrutiny anymore.  Quite oppressive really - any mistakes or experiments or just plain fooling around can (and will) be judged.

I enjoyed it.. think the bassist may have been over my head but i watched the whole thing and was enjoyable. Guthrie is a person who clearly loves the guitar, and he was having fun which i think comes through, and it seemed the other guitarist was getting a real kick out of playing with Guthrie. 

Sure it was over the top guitar wankery, but it looked like both guitarists were in on the joke and were having a blast with it.

You may not have enjoyed listening, but they enjoyed playing.

Dear Lord...

I remember reading about him in Making Music years ago, but I hadn't heard him before now.

Thank you for posting that.  I felt better and better about my own playing as it went on.
