Still a few in Leicester. I see 50 road sweepers, 8 applied sweeper drivers and 14 estate caretakers every day.

I also see the milkman quite a lot. Most nights infact.

Anytime from 1-4am, but always seems to happen when I step out for a smoke.
Seems to have a few drops in this street.

His vans not the electric float anymore, just a regular closed cab type thing. But I can’t blame em, those electric things were open doored and they must freeze in winter doing that shit all night.

Ford Cortinas with medallion man driving.

But - my neighbour has THREE Reliant Robins.

    Butchers, bakeries, greengrocers.

And I totally agree about opportunity and optimism.

We've got 'em in Woking and Guildford. One of the bakers is stupid-expensive and always seems to have a huge queue, the other chain is a bit crappy.

The greengrocer has fruit and veg that is markedly worse quality than the Sainsburys that's 2 minutes' walk away, for significantly more money.

Football Pools (no, not the muddy kind in Hackney Marshes), but the one where a score draw gets you 3 points.

Eric likes football now it seems ;) Slightly depressed after Bolton Pulised us yesterday... the best way to ruin a summer's day. The only highlight was seeing someone dressed as a boiler mascot feeling as hot it would be inside a real boiler. Rather them.than I.

Still get coal lorries where I live. Our village doesn't have mains gas and most folks have oil-fired central heating and a large oil tank outside. But most of these houses also have a real fire.

So as well as seeing oil deliveries one regularly sees the coal lorry making deliveries.

    Cans of Quattro.

    Tarzas down the woods.

Younguns doing jumps off home made ramps on their bikes.

Games of hop scotch, hide and seek and Kerbsy. I never see the younguns on the estate I grew up in playing any games like that. They barley even play football in the field.

It was only last week that a man in Belfast was crushed to death doing just that in his very own driveway.

One thing you don't see these days is Tennents lager tins with pictures of women on them.

Here in Singapore it would be women wearing more than the bare minimum.
It is extremely nice of them but it is also very distracting.
