I feel a bit offended that he hasn't sent me a silly offer for my Jackson, tbh!
I'm unoffended - he's just made me two offers! I've got it listed on eBay for £440, to cover the fees etc. First offer was £300, I declined that, and then got another offer of £350 a few seconds later. Declined that one too...
Now he's found me on facebook... sent me another offer of £350.
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

Talk about a tenuous link. He’s selling a 70’s Les Paul with a ‘Bowie Link’ basically it’s allegedly previously been owned by an old punk who ‘famously’ boned Bowie’s ex.

I saw that guitar before him, it was being sold by the guys family (they were really nice) and they didn’t really know value. It looked to me like it had a dodgy neck heel set as the lacquer was broken all around it. I declined it at £1900, think he got it for around that mark. It wasn’t a very good Les Paul. I bought its original chainsaw case off them instead.

Nooo, it can't be the same one. This one is in incredible condition and very clean!
I wonder why there are no pictures of the heel...

I've been inspired by these comments to low-ball him on a guitar I'm interested in. If he replies with anything interesting I'll post it here

That's really sad - we all know full well that his family will have been thoroughly ripped off by this scammer. I'd imagine they'll have been lucky to even see £1500 from him.

Yeah, I did tell them that it was worth around £2k but he could well have persuaded them otherwise. I had actually gone to check out a 60’s Guild they were also selling but it was quite damaged and not particularly great.

so he replied.....and was pretty courteous. Declined my offer but told me what he would accept, and signed off with 'my friend'

  • So after several weeks of absolutely no interest whatsoever in my Jackson, I've sold it to him today for £350. I have to say, he was very friendly, didn't mess me about at all, and showed me the studio while I was there. Very impressive collection of guitars and other gear, but I don't know enough about the recording side to pass comment on what it all was...
