Categorically there is no favouritism. Statistically the problem occurs more frequently with new members because they are less likely to have read the rules. I can’t say whether or not people are more likely to flag threads from members who they don’t know. Either way, a flagged thread goes once illegality is confirmed.
#2 - It's nothing to do with whether someone's a regular or not. I'm the one who's personally liable for any counterfeit trades (as defined by UK law), and I'm not going to take the risk of being made bankrupt for anybody on this site, regular or not. @Roland does a great job of handling most of that for us, and it's greatly appreciated.
#3 - We rely on those "do gooders" in order to keep this site going legally. Can I assume that you're not that bothered whether this site exists or not?
i shall now stand in the corner with my head hung
Maybe I just thought we were a wee bit friendlier than we came across there.
There are shops that sell Replica guitars with the logos on the Head stocks, they are just subtle with how they advertise and photograph them.
“ excuse me mate, you can see the headstock on that pic, best shift it as it’s against the rules”
i have helped plenty folk on here, uploading pics, advising that they may need a price On a listing, small things like that ya know, just generally being a nice human being. Instead of “ that’s fake, not allowed” how about advise him why it’s not allowed, or what he would need to do to make it allowed.
This appears to be a more aggressive application of the rules? Especially given that Photek and others appear to have been allowed to advertise as long as they don't show or reference logos?
it was advertised as what it was as far as I can see.
The guitar is a fake and the rules for (not) selling them on here are clear.
EDIT: Cross posted with Roland, who is of course spot on. Apologies for posting in the thread.
