I don’t think I sold anything, even though I’m meant to be thinning the herd. I bought 2 acoustic guitars and an electric guitar, and a couple of hard cases.
     I think that’s it..
I should really sell some stuff next year, but.. people..
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

I don't think I've had any major changes this year - plenty of parts in and out, but aside from that there's just the birth of my current favourite guitar...

EDIT: Oh, and I bought and sold the R&R SOLO. Again.

I've had quite a year gear-wise: over the last few years I sold all my gigging rig and guitars, so I started 2018 with a Tele, a cheap Jackson and a THR5...

    Out:
Set of Modern Player Tele pickups
    Modern Player Plus Telecaster
    Jackson JS32 Dinky
    Jackson DK2QM Dinky
    Electro-Harmonix Wailer Wah

    In:
    Performance superstrat
    EMG 81/85 set
    Jackson DK2QM Dinky
    Squier Contemporary Active Strat
Charvel Pro Mod San Dimas style 2
    Boss Katana 50
    Electro-Harmonix Wailer Wah
    Electro-Harmonix Crying Tone Wah
    Korg Pitchblack Advance tuner pedal
    Presonus interface and monitors
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

I'm probably the only member of this forum mentioned by name in Whiskey in the Jar ;)

  • Money has only been spent on maintenance.  Plek on the bravewood, and setup on the strat.
I have, however, spent money on lessons.

The only new gear has been an Xotic SP compressor

@Digitalscream, oh I haven't told you the story of how, after I posted, I found out it wasn't very loud.

There was much wobbling of bottom lips and rocking backward and forward in the corner with my head buried in my knees.

My tech had the transformer tested within about 12 hours of him receiving it, despite having other work. I think it was purely out of concern for my mental health.

It's in fill working order now, the seller even paid the repairs. His tech had executed some mods very poorly.

    Ugh :(

Y'know, I actually found a similar issue with my Decatone - it was nowhere near as loud as my JCA50H even after a revalve. No mods at all, it was just...odd.

Cheers! It's objectively the worst of all my guitars - even though the action is low, the neck's not as wide as it could be so there's not much wiggle-room on the top and bottom strings. There are sustain issues in a couple of places (it particularly doesn't like Bb being played anywhere on the neck), and it's been pretty difficult finding pickups that suit (although I've settled on Irongear Jailhouse Rails). The frets are almost too low as well - I don't like tall frets at all, but I might've gone a bit far with these so it gets a bit difficult to play up top.

There's something about it that just fits, though, and for the last month I've found myself picking it up all the time instead of my Jadens. Weird.
