Interesting. I actually sold a guitar to Essex Recording Studio and met him. Seemed decent enough and paid the agreed price via bank transfer.

However, that line about Gibson is pure comedy. Even if Gibson did go bankrupt:

1. The company would be bought almost immediately.

2. The value of premium second hand Gibsons would likely go up, as the supply of new instruments would dry up.

The R9 has noooo market value, as it has no COA plus Gibson are bankrupt.

Yes, he bid on one of mine as well. It was actually a decent offer, but that buyer isn't my cup of tea, and I'd prefer not to sell to them. Oddly enough, mine's missing a COA, but he didn't mention it.

This is what puts me off buying and selling lately.

I know it’s a game but it gets tiring especially with dealers as they’re the worst - when they’re buying it’s “this colour’s hard to sell, that mark looks like a neck break, looks like a refinish blah, blah, blah.” Of course when they’re selling those same issues are of no consequence and if it wasn’t for them anyway the guitar would be “twice the price”. It’s boring.

Yes, I know what you mean. It's putting me off as well - I have a couple listed at the moment, but it's getting a bit tiresome. It's a shame as there as so nice people out there, but these gobshites are like a rash.

I know people who have sold to him and one that went round his house.

Just an odd way to do business. 

By all means make me an offer but I don't appreciate the threat and justification that Gibson is bankrupt therefore guitars are worthless, so sell them to him cheap.
