Who uses 2 delays on their board?

What's Hot
fastonebazfastonebaz Frets: 4104
I've only used 1, but I'm thinking i could be missing out on a much lusher lead tone by having 2 delays, one short, one long.

What's the verdict? For those that use 2, does it sound a bit dissappointing when you go back to 1?

I use 2 but quite often not together, so I could probably use 1 if it had tap tempo.

I’ve got three.  =) Polymoon, Time Factor and El Capistan. They’ve all got different features I like, but I generally only use two at one time.

Short delay into long, or vice versa is really nice for ambient stuff. Sometimes you get a happy accident of the delay times beating against each other for cool weird effects.

I've got 3 and I'm about to add a fourth. I've been known to have five delays at one point. I'm sure others have more. Always nice to have lots of options for different sounds and pedal placements

Dm2 and el Cap.      Dm2 is set for very short and quiet delay and is on most of the time unless I’m doing some tight funky rhythm, el cap is set for a medium/ longer time with a couple of repeats that I’ll add for washy clean arpeggios or solos.
I coole gig quite happily with just the longer delay but having the short one makes everything sound bigger.

2 although not used in a rocktastic manner. But essentially short delay and long delay then the two together for something noisey/ ambient. But I would like a third for some modulated nonsense. A big box delay would probably make sense but the cost and the sub menus put me off.

Flashback plus Caverns, and there's room for a third, having last year let go my Vapor Trail.

  • I've got two on my larger board - Carbon copy into the front of the amp and a Digitech DL8 in the loop:

    Yep.

    On the board DSD2 and Boonar - plus a Line6 M5.
But I also use a Mooer Ocean Machine for recording - incredible thing.
My Line6 M13 has one scene where every button is a delay. The auto-swell delay into a ping pong stereo delay is incredible.

I’ve got one atm, but will probably go to 2, something for slapback (Dm-2w or aqua puss) and something for long and modulated delays.
(El Cap, MLj, MXR echoplex etc).

Probably easier having 2 desicated than one with presets.

I have one before reverb which can self oscillate and one post reverb (DL8) which also has a looper

Rather than one short, one long, I quite like one clean, modulated digital & one thick, melting into lo-fi analogue.

Yep an aggressive DD3 slapback followed by long delay tap tempo

edit: here's DD3 slap followed by a DD7 on reverse mode, quite an extreme example https://www.dropbox.com/s/zlk62ih5c4k2fyt/delays.mp3?dl=0
