    Try a curly lead :)
    - Yes a tone sucker, or at least hi end sucker - There was an American article some months ago measuring the capacitance of those 'Hendrix' era curly leads - The idea was you needed to put a cap inline to replicate the lost of highs from such a cable - Assuming you still used a good quality straight cable - They obviously implied that such a cable had some impact on the 'Hendrix' voice

The Hendrix style player who's kit I look after only uses curly leads, between pedals too as per Jimi gig photo's.  Into a bright Superlead it does sound very good.

A superlead can take your head off though if you don't tame the top end.

IIRC Jeff Beck always has the volume knob on his strats at 8 or 9 just to take that top end off.

Have a read of this https://guitar.com/guides/essential-guide/ultimate-guide-strat-tone/

As to 'The bridge literally sounds like a telecaster', standard Stratocaster bridge pickups are always more shrill/ice picky than a Tele bridge IMHO  ;)

The only thing I have in common with him.

Does it have a treble bleed? Clip it out.

If pickups are too low or too high, that will affect things.

Try a different pick. Some add way too much plink to the front end of the note.

Award Session make a cable that rolls off some highs.

Maybe the cap value needs to change.

If no joy, try a warmer pickup - another vote for V60lp.

Try a brass grounding plate on the bridge pickup, not 100% convinced but it’s cheap and worth a go

I thought it was a steel plate that was recommended - same as a tele pickup has. Does a brass plate do something different?
    Karma......

Apparently a brass trem block warms up the sound, so could try that?

I had that trio of pickups is a CS 60s Strat a few years ago, they were Abby Ybarra hand wounds though. I actually preferred the Texas Special in the bridge over the other 2 as I thought it a fatter warmer sounding pickup. I do like to roll down the tone to about 6 ort so on a Strat bridge pickup when using overdrive though.

I think part of it will be the actual guitar too - is it alder & maple board?

I can recommend the tonerider classic blues set for a cheapish option. No shrillness in my strat, but it's a rosewood board and pretty heavy so naturally a bit mellower

If ur main amp is the fender, clip the bright cap and try a cannabis rex speaker. I had the same issue and now it’s great combo (but with a drri65)

Could try dropping a single coil size humbucker in there.

Have a delta tone circuit mod done to give no load tone control on the bridge pickup.
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)
