Took a punt on something I was fancying anyway, a PRS SE Bernie Marsden, it's a 2012, from GuitarGuitar. What swayed me was the fact that the pickups appear to have been upgraded but it's still at roughly the going rate. I purposely didn't call up and I suspect they aren't aware of what they are either. The originals are included anyway.

So what do we think? Some cheapo no names? Or something else? I'm keen to find out:

It’d be odd for someone to go through the hassle of changing pups to put cr@p ones in. Could
be a decent buy. If it’s as light & resonant as the one I have it’ll be great.

Exactly my thoughts mate. If it’s got a good set in it I’ll be very happy. Yeah that’s the risk but hopefully it isn’t like a pair of concrete boots. Looking forward to it as it’s my first PRS, albeit a Korean one. I was almost buying the 2018 one in the classifieds but this pickup thing made me change my mind....

They’re probably quality replacements. A few months ago I bought an Epiphone 61 SG special reissue second hand from Guitar Guitar and was surprised at how good it sounded. Upon opening it up I found that the  pickups had been replaced with Gibson ones and the wiring and controls all upgraded. These mods were not mentioned in the listing and I’m pretty sure that they they didn’t know about them. I’m certainly not complaining!

You mean you didn’t ask for the weight before buying it?!  ;)

I got Audrey a PRS SE Custom 24 for Christmas through facebook marketplace.
Local seller, £400, very good condition (It needed a new nut and a clean up but that's all) and it already had Dimarzio Gravity Storm pickups fitted, almost like new.

Hope this works in your favour and you're happy with it.

Judging by the shop's photograph, the pickup covers have far rounder corners than the stock PRS G&B items. Hence, they could be PRS USA or production line Seymour Duncan. (e.g. SH-1 '59s, Pearly Gates, Seth Lovers or Saturday Night Specials. The nickel doesn't looked scuffed up enough to be Antiquity.)

Of course, there are several UK pickup makers whose products would suit the Marsden.

That’s a great buy with the Creamery pickups!

I once bought a used Baja Tele and the neck pickup sounded nothing like a Twisted Tele, so I lifted the guard and it was a piece of shite that looked like something from Ali Express!

TBH, the Mexican version of the Twisted Tele neck/Rhythm position pickup isn’t much cop either.

Creamery ‘59 model pickups should nail the old Les Paul vibe. Ideally, the coils should be wax potted but the covers should not.
