How does the digital delay compare to something like the Nova Delay or a TC2290? Is it good basically?
The Digital delay on the ds500 has incredible fidelity

one of the things that seems to be missing on the DD200 is the vintage digital setting, which I believe is a recreation of the 2290 or maybe a Korg. Can’t remember off the top of my head
That's just making it worse for me! Particularly if it's modelled on on the Korg delays.

    DM2, SD2000, SD3000. I don't think the 2290 is explicitly modelled.

Ah nice! Thanks for clearing that one up.

I can't find any info on 200 presets anywhere though, just a miserable four!

How are you getting on with the. DD-500?

It's one of my favourite pedals, but I'm not using it right now. Mainly because I'm still madly in boner with the Volante!

Neither can I now. Maybe I was still drunk from breakfast when I "read" that information

    No Midi? I’m out :(
    They have midi.
Only if you have a midi module or external switch etc? Am I I reading that wrong? If one had to buy another box:gizmo then I’m still out

I think it's a midi into a 3.5mm Jack, it's buried somewhere on their website if I'm correct.

You would need a MIDI controller to tell the pedal what to do, but that's true of all MIDI effects.

We don't know yet if they need any other sort of intermediary gadget other than the 5 pin to 3.5mm adapter (like the Source Audio Neuro Hub, Meris, Empress, Chase Bliss MIDI hubs) but you would have thought BOSS would have announced the MIDI hub thing along with the pedals if that were the case.

Don't talk politics and don't throw stones. Your royal highnesses.

Nothing on the BOSS website about the 200 presets via MIDI, but I would be surprised if you couldn't get more presets that way- Source Audio, Stone Deaf and others have a similar function on their pedals.

Be good to see manuals for these...

Pedal Playground have them on already!

Good to compare size if accurate.

    Look good to me.

Yeah that’ll be it for the midi side of things :)

It's a Boss.  It won't break.  Therefore it beats the Nova Delay - of which I have had two and they both died.

The manual is up on the U.S. site.

    https://www.boss.info/us/support/by_product/dd-200/owners_manuals/b8ece50c-638a-41d3-934e-b4be29bb038b/

Doesn't say anything about extra savable presets via midi. Only four plus manual mode.

Still a very powerful delay though there's lots of settings of you need them in the deep editing.

Well that's that settled then. Not selling my DD-500.

Seems like it's a lot closer to the DD-20 update that some people wanted the DD-500 to be, which is probably great news for BOSS.

No mention of an editor in the manual...

    {oh quotes system why do you hate me}

I was thinking that Boss normally co-ordinate new pedal releases with various YouTube reviewers but nothing on these so far. Bit of a change of tack for some reason.

You can set the parameters via midi, so your preset would be in your controller. Bit of a faff

Is the DD-200 in stock anywhere yet?  Could do with one sharpish
