Any user love for them on here? I must admit I’ve never heard anyone talk about them on here but they look similar to the Xotic / Suhr guitars. Mainly all damn expensive :(

  • Amazing guitars. I had a Raven recently that I’ve now moved on. One of the top builders up there with Suhr etc, fantastic fit and finish, can’t go wrong.

I only moved mine on as I got it used and the specs weren’t for me but if you buy new you can spec it how you want.

IME flawless construction and ergonomics, great fret work, and if desired great tops. The pickups I had (H1/H2 iirc) were quite modern / hi-fi sounding, not necessarily a negative but not vintage sounding if that’s your thing. I had a Suhr at the same time and they were indistinguishable in terms of quality. One of the top guitars I regret selling....

They seemed to be head to head with Suhr until around 10 years ago, then Suhr seemed to really take off and leave TA behind. I've only played one and it was excellent.

Ive played a couple, very good build quality, nice necks and good switching options but too sterile sounding for my taste.
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

The best ‘posh’ Strats (& Teles) available in my view - significantly better than Suhr based on the samples I’ve played. If ‘vintage’ is what you’re after, they’re not a good choice - but if your preferences are towards ‘modern’ with all the idiosyncrasies ironed out, there’s nothing better.

Always wanted one, never had one (yet)

Personally I always thought if them as a step up from Suhr, not sure why......... are they both produced in similar numbers?

I currently have a Tyler, which for me is the third of the really established superstrat rather than reproduction booteek firms. Its also really good.

Not just sound - by ‘vintage’ I meant neck profiles, tighter fingerboard radii, smallish frets, 6 screw trems, Kluson style tuners, low-output pick-up, traditional colours, etc.

’Modern’ for me means flatter fingerboards, bigger frets, sealed/locking tuners, higher output/more mid-range focussed pick-ups, sculpted neck joints, two-point trems, etc.

  • I play two Cobras (S and T) and love them. In my opinion they have a lighter, more delicate feel than Suhrs...
