Brands that are a serious rival to Gibson CS LP?

What's Hot
So what brands/ models from the competition can really match Gibson’s custom shop Les Pauls R8,R9?

Fancy another Les Paul and already have 5 Gibson’s so looking to try the competition and get more bang for my buck

Thinking around the £2-2.5K mark. Feline would come in at over 3K+ I would think

Feline have already been mentioned.  There are a few other small UK builders.

The PRS 594 is good as well.

  • The high end modern Tokais are excellent. Everyone raves about the old ones (with some jutification) but the one Tokai I've kept (having sold my oldies) is a 2016 LS1 R4. It's a phenomenal guitar. The liveliest P90 Goldtop I've ever played (including a few 50s examples) and the fit and finish out of the box is every bit the equal of Gibson CS (if not better frankly). Prices around 2 to 2.5k and worth it.

I've had a 1980 greco super real eg1000, definitely gets the vintage vibe with a bigger neck, do your homework and look a japan guitars website, there are great alternatives cheaper than gibson

Quality wise? I'd say Tokai MIC are easily streets ahead on quality these days.

Only joking, they would have to be having a bad day...

I reckon Gibson are going to have to trademark the term 'Kwollity' instead.

What's the problem with your existing five Les Pauls?

Can't you think of anything other than identical guitars to spend thousands of pounds on?

Not being facetious, just genuinely mystified.

ref the above lists already mentioned then Collings is missing

Used - PRS have offered a few nice Single Cut models over the years including the SC58

Both the above are LP influenced and not pure vintage replicas

Back at home the likes of @Danielsguitars

I prefer the Eastman models that I have tried over the Maybach's
