Hmmm, it's always been my experience that treble bleed caps were the enemy of fuzz face circuits.

Based on your sound example - I would be inclined to agree with @Grunfeld - velvet fuzz in tight mode is meant to mimic a full stack with fuzz and big mode is a big muff and has a fair wedge of bottom end .. 
I tried to mimic your guide tone with velvet in big mode and an eq pedal into a AxeFx with a JTM profile n its kind of - but is the Axe profile n cab same as yours ? Do you want to run an eq to roll off that huge bottom end ?

Id go for the try out option on the BM personally
