I don’t know but it’s certainly one of the best albums of all time, can’t think of any weak songs in there.
It was pure magic to me as a young teenager and massively influenced my learning of the guitar.

    No.

    Black Sabbath is.

I was talking about this on Friday with a work colleague. AYE?, VH1 and LZ1 are easily as good if not better. Appetite is a corker with no duffers though - it has to be said.

  • Yes. Absolutely no doubt about it.
    Best debut album.
    Best opening track ever too.

Other contenders for best debut album are:
Rage Against the Machine: Rage Against the Machine

    Nas: Illmatic

    but Appetite is the best.

Appetite is better than Are You Experienced?

    Really?

Better than Never Mind The Bollocks?

    Great debuts?  Crikey...

    Definitely Maybe
    Suede
    Generation Terrorists
    Please Please Me

In any list of 100 great debuts I'd expect to see Appetite on it, great album, IMHO.

Nope, it’s not even close to the album it ripped off. Most of the rifs were stolen from ‘Never Mind The Bollocks’ by The Sex Pistols.
