Just got back to Devon after dropping my lad's Cornell Romany off in Andover courtesy of PMT's show deal.  Great to have a chat with Denis about amp designs and amazed at his enthusiasm after all these years.  Guitar or the day for me was the lovely single cut Junior at the @IvisonGuitars stand.  I had half an idea to buy the real thing but every one I tried was basically worn out.  Neil has totally nailed the vibe with these things and the guy on here who kindly let him exhibit his new toy is going to have a lot of fun.

My first time at this sort of event and really enjoyed it. Location was ideal for me as it was only some 10 miles away.

Didn't buy anything, but would love to have come away with the '64 Strat that was on display. Totally original, even the strings, and came with all the original case candy, including a '64 Fender brochure.  A snip at £39,995.00 but as it was a left hander I decided to pass :) .

From the POV as an exhibitor....personally I had a great day, the best day I’ve had turnover wise of all the shows I’ve ever exhibited at the last 4 years (when you’re selling pots and harnesses and other low value items it’s not difficult to beat)

chatted to a few fretboarders which is always nice. Chatted to a few business fretboarders too so good to catch up with the likes of @IvisonGuitars @TateFX @NorthernStomps @FelineGuitars and others

coffee was standard, didn’t try the food. Parking is free. It’s a good show. I also managed to pick up a telecaster...which I’m debating leaving in the boot of the car until tomorrow morning to hide it from Mrs Six String. “It’s a workshop guitar to test circuits” (that’s actually true, but she just doesn’t get it)

good day out and thanks to anyone who popped onto my stand to talk cricket, rugby and guitars.
Yeah was a good show, glad I’ve got today off work to get everything sorted out and just chill out a bit, absolutely knackered!

Am I the only one who wasn't blown away by Mike Bradley's Hamstead setup?  A very 'average' tone.  Last time I saw him live he was using a Fender Supersonic IIRC which was much better.  IMHO of course.  FWIW, his lead guitarist using a combo sounded a bit better,

My first time going along to one of these shows but I was very glad I went. Didn't think beforehand I'd buy anything but I came away with a gorgeous parlour acoustic by luthier David Woodcock (DJW Guitars) that I just could not resist. I played a few of the guitars on his stand and all were terrific - a very nice chap as well.

Tried a couple of Auden acoustics too (never heard of this make before). They seemed pretty nice but there was too much going on around their stand to really judge how good they sounded

@guitars4you -  which stand were you? (Sorry I'm not a frequent regular here)

    Just got back.
The bad , location for me anyway was bad, trying to get across London on a Sunday is always a nightmare.
Nearly completely missed it as no signs for event outside, inside the paying room, and nowhere inside the racecourse area.
The burgers and coffee upstairs were dreadful

    The Good.
Great turn out, very busy, most stall owners very friendly and happy to talk bollocks, chatted to two Guitar Nerds and Johnny Marrs guitar tech, some great guitars, prices were ok but not great.
A lot to see, lots of variety, some interesting pedal builders.
    Parking was free.

I'd go again, with ear protection, on the train, if they're running.

There was a banner at the main gate off the A308. :-)
If you came from that direction...
