Deluxe Reverb: Will I regret trading for a Princeton?

As a pure matter of preference I like the Deluxe more than the Princeton and the latter will get overwhelmed at anything less than a very polite gig. 

Try a Jettenuator they are fairly cheap and it will work fine if you just want to knock a bit of volume off to play clean without upsetting the neighbours . It's only if you want to have power amp distortion at bedroom levels you are going to have to really finely tune everything and buy something fancy.

Just done a gig with Gretsch Duo Jet > Princeton Reverb (68 Custom RI). I had the volume on 4.5 and that was loud enough in a pub alongside acoustic guitar and vocals (via PA) and bass (via a combo). Any louder and I would have been pushing the output valves into break-up. With a drummer it wouldn't have stayed clean.
