I like a lot of the films already mentioned, so I'll try to add a few which haven't:

Braindead - I wish Peter Jackson would recapture some of the humour of his early films.  Seeing this at the cinema was an absolute blast, more like going to a rock concert.

It's A Gift - WC Fields at (IMO) his best.

Galaxy Quest - not only very funny, also the best Star Trek film ever made.

Agree about Galaxy Quest, Braindead/Peter Jackson.  LOTR really took away the fun from his films (IMO, I'm sure many disagree)

The Frighteners is another film that seems to always be a lot of fun to watch.

I thought the LOTR films were great, although I must admit I haven't re-watched them since.  Then he fell in love with the capabilities of CGI.  King Kong was tolerable, but flabby and overblown and not a patch on the original.  He really blew it with The Lovely Bones and the Hobbit films are just shite.

The Frighteners is great.  Totally subjective, but I think it's one of those very rare films where the pacing is perfect, I never once get bored or feel anything is rushed.  He now seems to have completely lost that ability to edit effectively.

    Planes, Trains, and automobiles.

    Bill and Ted’s Excellent adventure.

If you asked me tomorrow, would be a completely different list.

I forgot about Amelie. One of my all time favourite funny films. Must've watched it a dozen times and it always makes me feel good.

Chez Les Ch'tis is really funny as is Diner de Cons.

I've not watched it in a while, but remember loving it years ago.

Guilty(ish) pleasures.... these are not great comedies, in fact they're not even good comedies, but for some reason I really like...

Tommy Boy and Black Sheep, with Chris Farley and David Spade.

Spinal Tap - refer to this at every rehearsal or gig. A towering presence in my life.

Bowfinger (absolutely love this).. criminally underrated imho.

Kingpin. Bill Murray ftw. Anything with him is usually right up my street.

For people struggling to choose a third film, I suggest The Producers.

See most of those films were in my head, but so hard to single any out, The Folksmen of Mighty Wind though, a weird Spinal Tap of some parallel universe...
