Yeah it needs to be more blasphemous again. It's not the same otherwise  I didn't finish ancient god's part 1 so not sure I'll bother with part 2. The encounters all seemed to be really tedious with most of the difficulty coming from not being able to actually move because the arenas were so confined.

Agreed on Doom 2016. That was a brilliant game, and evolved the traditional DOOM just enough, while retaining some key characteristics.

DOOM Eternal was just..... weird. As you say, it's jumped the shark on the lore, the gameplay and the micro management stuff. I found it a huge disappointment.

I can’t do online shooting any more. I have really shitty ping and a real job that means I don’t have time to get good enough to beat the 14-year-olds but it’s definitely mostly the ping, honest. 

Fall Guys is good though

Dug out the n64 and ps1 over the weekend. Introduced the kids to the joys of tekken, international superstar soccer and may have stayed up until nearly midnight playing true pinball. Had a few connectivity problems but looking forward to giving goldeneye and perfect dark a good going over. I'm amazed it all worked after 20 years in the loft.

Yup.

Mine is 5 years old now and still fine.

New one incoming though. Hopefully be here in a week or so.

Do you have a 4k TV. If not and not planning to get one there is no point holding out for the X.

Do you have a 4k TV. If not and not planning to get one there is no point holding out for the X.

I do have one. Also the downloads only thing put me off sharpish lol.

FWIW I can barely tell 4K over 1080p but 60fps is awesome. I honestly didn’t think I’d notice but it makes a huge difference on anything “actiony”

Agreed.

Even without 4k you are getting improved frame rates, draw distances, particle effects etc.

Currently doing Fallout 4 on survival mode.  Completely different experience to the normal mode.  The eating, drinking and sleeping is a minor inconvenience but the lack of saving, fast travel and the fact that a basic radar can one shot me takes some getting use to.

Also started octopath traveller as it's on game pass.  Only an hour or so in but it's good to get back to a turn based, square enix RPG.  Does make me wish I could go back and play final fantasy 7 for the first time again.
