  • I'll also be getting a pair of his honky tonk angels, which should make my poor attempts at doing a partscaster sound much better than my skills at putting the thing together :)
Just about to place an order for the very same pickups, for the very same reason!

You really won't regret buying Honky Tonk angels - they sound magnificent. I'm considering a set of Firewatch P90s for my beloved Les Paul Special. There is quite a volume mismatch on the neck unit vs the bridge one - and the neck unit has started squeeling at stage volumes.

Ash says they should be here by the end of the week. My loom is turning up today. Hurray!

Sadly not mine Tony :) but belonging to one of the guitarists in The Treatment lovely isn't it. The pickup was designed by me, in cooperation with Jonathan at Feline Guitars and is a tool for those classic ACDC like lead and rhythm tones.

    :)) :)) :))
There are some sentences that cry out for a comma when you are tired ... and possibly even a re-order,
but of course if you believe the conspiracy theorists we are all just tools of the lizard people!

Any idea when your P90 sized mini hum might be available?

If you want one (soap-bar)  I should be able build you one ... or a pair pretty much now ... around 7 to 10 working days dispatch. It will look like a standard P90 but the pole screws will be dummies.

I would base the pickup on a Firebird HB with twin alnico 5 mags. Could be made either to sound like a vintage Firebird, or 'blown on' a bit for a more modern tone.

    Well.
That's the most beautiful Les Paul I've ever seen, simple as that. A neck pickup would be nice, but aesthetically... wow.

Jonathan your work is exceptional (and your photography) I don't even like white guitars and that's just stunning. To echo the comment above i'd like a neck humbucker but man that's a looker. I take my hat off to you sir... again :-bd

I think Jonathan would be the first to point out that the guitar is not in fact made by him, but a Rock And Roll Relics product I believe. The installation of the Oil City pickup and some associated electrics etc work was done by him ... Correct me if I'm wrong mate .
That's not to take away from Jonathan's superb craftsmanship ... it was his own Feline fitted with Oil City pickups that made the guitar owner prick up his ears and make a choice for OCP.

Personally I want to sell a heap more pickups so I can get Feline to build my ultimate guitar.  That would be a mahogany flying V with a set neck, and a single FireWatch P90 dogear in the bridge ... finished in TV yellow or cream ... with a wrap over tailpiece ... mmmmmmmmmmm
