To shim or not to shim?

The ruler is about 10mm above the pickguard, in line with the bridge posts.
Shim. But you won't need more than 0.5deg

Use the StewMac ones, rather than bits of card. Much better, and will give a proper gradual slope kicking the neck back.
I got the 3-pack of StewMac shims. Sanded down the shallowest one to fit and...it wasn't steep enough. Now I don't know whether to try the middle one or steepest. Should've tried the middle one first doh!

It's got a TOM bridge, but the neck pocket isn't angled grrrr

The finished article had its first outing at rehearsal last night, and sounded absolutely phenomenal (even despite my playing!)

I'm over the moon with it.

Here's a summary of the ingredients:

@djspecialist  looks really good, always like to see my kit bodies in their finished form.

If anyone's interested, I have a fully chambered with an F hole all the body curves Jazzmaster. Not quite finished yet, workshop closed till the end of January, should have it finished early February.

    Good question - I hadn't noticed. Any idea @Corvus ?

@djspecialist just to annoy the offset purists ;) not really - didn't think of a "right" way as functionally it makes zero odds, probably went for easiest access to the screws. Like ABR1 and Nashville are traditionally opposite ways round, but either way works fine. More'n happy to swap it round if you like, I know how these things can stick out at you kind of thing - I'm generally lurking about the place over the xmas time, catching up on my own neglected things.

Either way this is a nice thing here, it looks great and sounds excellent. Good work on the frets too.
