Music recommendations please

What's Hot
Both my partner and I have symptoms of the virus, now on day 4 and very board.

Any music recommendations at all.

I am currently into In Rainbows by Radiohead, melaphoboa by Cage the Elephant. Interpol etc.

But I like the classics like Transformer, Loves forever changes, exile on main Street, Lust for Life, Bowie's Low, Stooges etc.

New bands would be great, or maybe older bands I've overlooked.

I certainly overlooked Radiohead, i.much prefer in Rainbows to the earlier work. The basement live session on YouTube is incredible give it a watch if like me your bored of isolation,

From what you're naming there then I'd recommend giving Wolf Alice and Anna Calvi a listen if you're not familiar with them already.

  • War on Drugs. New to me. Lost in a dream. Sounds crap in the car and brilliant through a decent system

I recommend Songs From The Bardo by Laurie Anderson and a couple of other people. It's incredibly calming.

If you like In Rainbows then don't overlook King of Limbs (a bit more blipply-bloppy) or A Moon Shaped Pool (a bit more strings-y and less blippy).

Also try It Culls You by the Envy Corps.

And for a bit more "songy" then dip into The National - everything after Boxer is phenomenal, but Sleep Well Beast is probably the most Radioheadish.

Things I've been listening to a lot lately:

    DIIV: Deciever

Boy And Bear: Suck On Light

Grouper: Grid Of Points and Ruins

Indian Queens (no albums yet, but a fair few singles and an EP)

The Quiet Temple (S/T). I heard the term Doom Jazz used to describe them. A friend recommended them to me, citing a mixture of Radiohead, Massive Attack and early Pink Floyd.

Swervedriver: I Wasn't Born To Lose You

Besnard Lakes: Until In Excess, Imperceptible UFO and A Coliseum Complex Museum
My wife asked me to stop singing Wonderwall.
    I said maybe.....
