Mini project: 1969 Le Mans liveried Les Paul

What's Hot
Just a little lockdown project. I refinished this Gibson Les Paul CM in Sonic Blue nitro last year and it was a little bit plain, so a bit of coloured vinyl and I have a Gulf Racing liveried Les Paul. I think it looks pretty f'in cool!

Hopefully it can be reversed later without the Vinyl having reacted with the nitro!

Why would you want to reverse it?!

Thanks for the kind words all - I'd consider doing it properly in paint, but that's way outside my level of expertise, and paying someone else to do it would cost more than the £300 guitar was to buy new!

You really need a Fender Mustang GT40 amp to go with this...

Amazing! Now I'm wondering why more guitars don't have racing liveries.

Someone help me - what does CM stand for?

Supposedly "chick magnet". It was the only model in 2015 that didn't have all the normal appointments for that year and a normal neck, but Amazon still blew them out for £300.

It's basically the same as the 2014 melody makers, carved top, thin body, but with 1 humbucker instead of 2 P90s. Had a patchy black stain finish.

    Chick Magnet? For real?

When were these released - the 1940s?!
