Jonny Buckland, or as a wild card (which I’ll assume I get one or two lols for), Rhett Shull’s set up. He always seems to get great sounds (to me) through whatever he’s playing. He also just bought a very nice AC30 to add to his lovey collection of amps

Surprised nobody has mentioned Mark Knopfler.

Those 58 Les Pauls have got to be worth a pretty penny (I think I heard somewhere they’re estimated to be worth about half a million each!) and he uses some pretty tasty amps.

I think I’ve said on here possibly the best live guitar sound I remember was Mike Zito so I guess his rig. Custom tele thing, Category 5 amps, £300 Mile Zito overdrive, few other pedals.
I'm sure I'd sound utterly brilliant.

Vernon Reid's because its full on mental, and I'm sure it's either sentient or it can at least order an uber.
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

Rory Gallagher: (guitar + combo amp) + a couple of pedals = killer tone

There's not actually that many I'd want to own, though plenty out there that I'd love to play through at volume for shits & giggles:
    • John Frusciante
    • Trent Reznor
    • Adam Jones
    • Kurt Cobain
    • Neil Young
    • James Hetfield (late-90s rig)
    • Jerry Cantrell
    • Tony Iommi
    • Zakk Wylde

Also, I'm shocked that no-one's said Jimi, Jimmy, or Stevie yet?!?

  • Zakk Wyldes Gibson and Marshall rig just for fun.
The Edge - would be great to experience all of those delays and effects in his cranked Vox's and Fenders at a proper volume.
Sambora mid 90's. Seems very versatile and well balanced.
    Mayer.

Completely agree, saw them at the Marquee Club early 90s, it took two roadies to carry his pedalboard on. And look at the rack setup !

Vernon Reid.  Great tones, fab guitarist.  Love Neil Young's electric output too.  And Robin Trower has always had his own (great) distinct sound.

Now that I'm listening to it I would love to have Knopfler's rig as used on the Love Over Gold tour (Alchemy live).

Not really sure what amps he's using but I think I recall somewhere they're some flavour of Boogie MKII pushed through EV loaded 412 cabs.  Whatever they are, they sound incredible to me.

A trio of very nice Schecters, plus a couple of other nice guitars, too.

    Yep, I'd take that, thanks!

Basically, whatever Michael Timmins was on for recording the Cowboy Junkies' Trinity Sessions.  Fender amp with something thoughtful, mellow and beautiful.

Princeton Reverb II. Still part of the live rig, the last time I looked.
