Second to that, John Petrucci, again so I can figure out how it all works. I actually don’t like DT all that much.
There is no 'H' in Aych, you know that don't you? ~ Wife
Turns out there is an H in Haych! ~ Sporky
Bit of trading feedback here.
After hearing (and feeling it!!) up close at sound check it’s one hell of a set-up - would have loved to have 10 minutes to play through it...
I'd sell everything, buy a nice house and a few cool guitars and amps.
Who's rig would I like? No idea actually. Anyone (else) who likes to play a vintage sounding Strat straight in to a really pissed off 5e3 I guess
For simplicity, Don Felder's rig when I saw him in Sept'19. A couple of Fender Deluxe Reverbs (looked like DRRIs rather than the hand-wired ones but I couldn't confirm) and a simple board but great tones and guitars and what a player.
My own pic
Marc Ford circa 1991
Adrian Belew around 1980
Robert Quine's imagination circa 1991
Apart from this it would be EVH from the late 80s, Vai from the eat arm & smile, EJ from Austin city limits or 80s Gsry Moore.
All in the great scheme of things fairly simple and approachable! Loud marshalls and a handful of pedals.
One of my greatest regrets in the early days of Ebay was not having a spare £5k to spend on the advert for Billy Duffy's full Sonic Temple touring rig. 2 JCM 900s, 2 4x12s and full Bradshaw rack and switcher. Would have been perfect for pub gigs! Oh well!
He essentially has an analogue version of a Kemper/Axe-FX etc.
As in, he has about a dozen high end amp heads on a custom switching system to select which goes down to an isolation cabinet in his basement with a selection of mics on a cab that then go back up to his room so he can blend the mics to taste.
