Very nice. I’d imagine an Epiphone would be a big seller, but then I suppose Oasis fans are in their 40s these days though and might be happy to pay Gibson money.

Pretty iconic guitar for those of us of a certain age.

Though he’s rarely been seen without a D28 in recent years...

Seems like a good call. Suppose he'd have trouble getting sponsorship from Antoria.

I think the Antoria was only ever seen in the Wonderwall video.

^ True, but I'm still sore at the little shit for disproportionally hiking the prices of a guitar that I have been trying to get a good early example of for years  ;)

Guitar shop owners everywhere are dreading getting these into stock in tandem with the reopening of retail I’d imagine. They may as well just leave the capo on the 2nd fret while it hangs on the peg.

I've always thought Wonderwall sounds better in Em!

  • I don't get it - he plays standard unmodified acoustics, and his playing is very average cowboy chord stuff.

Gibson get increased sales associated with a major artist's name, the artist gets a nice kickback for each guitar sold.

Endorsements are becoming an increasing source of income for artists, what with recorded music delivering very little revenue and live music currently non-existent.

They are a business, he has a big fan base, they will make money.

The Epiphone Union Jack Sheratons that didn’t even have an endorsement are going for silly money on eBay these days.

Here we go again... another NG thread that descends into slagging off his playing.

You've been here before right?  This, depressingly, happens with any thread about any guitarist. Does my head in.

But you did just do the same in the Dave Simpson thread so ... ;)

Touche. But the DS vid was being lauded as an example of his great playing...

The J150 is pretty rare, no? So there's that. Plus what others said, pretty iconic to many people. He's no virtuoso, but something he has got a talent for which most don't, he's a great all round songwriter.

My assumption is that it will be ridiculously expensive though, as per all of Gibsons output these days. So thats me out!

And his songwriting is among some of the all time greats of his era.

Far more interesting than yet another Bonamassa Les Paul...

I bet nearly every single one is sold to a pro footballer.

Noel Gallagher represents the sort of narrow minded tribalism I loathe in both music and life. I don’t care if he’s more successful than I am. He’s not someone I’d ever care to emulate.

A signature guitar of an artist I’ve actually heard of!
