OK, that's the kind of feedback I'm after.

For now, run an ad blocker (some good suggestions above) for a week, and then join in the poll/feedback thread that I'll put up.

I'm still seeing them (Chrome on Android), on top of the main panel as in @GoldenEraGuitars post above. In addition to blocking the view, it makes scrolling go all jittery

Weird. OK, I've just cleared the server cache - have they gone now? (you might need to refresh)

It would be a better UX for me if there were no ads whilst scrolling the list of threads but then reading a thread was where the ad was.

Android/Chrome, sorry. Most ads fit under the menu but this one seems wider

As an aside, inverted mode is pretty wild. It looks normal to me now because the inverted screenshot is inverted a second time

@roberty - so...just so I get it (no judgement here) - you're using the desktop version of the site on an Android device in portrait mode, yes? (I presume that's a tablet, not a phone)

Does it do the same thing in landscape orientation?

Ironically, the poor scaling of the site is one of the big things on the agenda for "development fixes".

@roberty - I've blocked all Positive Grid ads, since they all behave that way in testing (ie they ignore the size limits I've placed on it).

OK, so the overwhelming impression I get now is...the sidebar isn't working.

Bear with me, I'll move it to a footer, and that should sort it. I didn't realise so many of you were using the desktop mode on small-screen devices!

I’d sign up for a membership to remove ads, though I don’t mind if that’s not an option and ads have to stay.

What I would really like though is dark mode!

There are options for this - if you edit your profile, there's a dropdown for the theme - Standard/Faded/Dark/Inverted.

Admittedly, none of them are a proper dark theme, but Faded and Dark definitely tone it down a fair bit. Inverted is just weird, but some people actually seem to like it! Some images go really weird in Inverted mode, though.

I have an ad blocker which I've been switching on and off.  The ads don't seem too distracting, but then I only use the FB on desktops/laptops - no phones or tablets.
