Amazing! They dump their distributors to make it cheaper and then put up the prices so they get a better margin.

I really wanted one of their bass amps, but they can jog on!

Yep, I’ll stick with my old Studio 22. I still want a mk3 though. I’ve played through quite a few mk series amps and their studios/dc’s etc and I’ve found the newer ones don’t seem to be as aggressive and raw as the older stuff.

I bought a fully loaded, hardwood/wicker Mark III brand new in 1996. It cost £1400. I’ve just used an inflation calculator to see what that equates to today; £5,100!

The "rock generation" are at retirement age, the richest generation there will ever be, and Gibson's shareholders want as much of that money as possible - Fender are almost as bad.

That British buyers did the equivalent of shouting "ooops boys, I dropped the soap..." in prison by voting for Brexit, just makes it worse.

Take into account horrific inflation, and you have a turd sandwich with vomit sauce.

“Soon” is a very non specific word.

At those stupid prices they aren’t going to be holding much stock.

I’ve owned a Triple Crown and a mk5 25. Both were pretty good but in terms of sounds I like, my Engl Ironball SE kicks the Mesa’s arse. By miles! Way, way, way cheaper too.

However JP2C is now £4399 (vs $3999 in the US) and a Mark VII is £3849 (vs $3499 in the US) - thanks but nope - I've got old Mark series amps I'll stick with those...

That is the sort of mark up we were seeing from Westside and that didnt end well at all.

None of the cabs are in stock, you have to pre order so I'm guessing they don't sell many of them in the store to justify having them on display.

That’s the thing, nothing is in stock and hasn’t been for years.

Not so important now but 5-6 years ago I was still playing half stacks live and really wanted a Mesa cab to go with my 6505+. Had to settle for an Orange in the end which is still good but those Mesa oversized speakers just give more thump when chugging metalcore riffs!!

$3999 - convert currency using todays rate = £3,156.  An extra £1243, absolutely not worth it. How can that even be justified? even after taking into account shipping, taxes etc

Same goes for Marshalls sold in the US. A JVM410 over there cost them, $3200. Doesn't make much sense to me.
