Love the understatement of the vocal on House of Cards.

HOC is wonderful. And absolutely the best example to give people when they tell you SGs are only for ACDC.

HoC is one track I've never fully settled with. I keep wanting it go somewhere it doesn't go but I have to be honest here, the headphones make a big difference. The fast echo on the bass drum is lost in the car. Totally feel it tonight.

Penultimate track: Jigsaw Falling In To Place. The first single.

Jigsaw Falling in to Place - this song always makes me feel slightly intoxicated, regardless if I have had a drink or not.

Colin's bassline on this is fab

Jigsaw is probably the other track that's objectively great but I never choose to listen to. Listening on a proper system those amazing acoustic sounds are back though, which is nice :)

It definitely more accessible than some of their other albums. More commercial but not commercial if you know what I mean.

I'd forgotten about "Jigsaw" for some reason, but it's really good. Maybe a bit more older style Radiohead (thinking maybe a bit like "I Might Be Wrong"?)

So many highlights. I recall one of RH being interviewed and saying it was when they got Reckoner down they knew they had something special with this album.

I'm pretty sure I paid £3 for the download on release, as you could name your own price..

Videotape is a great closer. I've always connected it with Separator and Give Up the Ghost from TKOL. I'm not sure if they were written together but all a very similar vibe (in a good way)

"Videotape" is fucking genius. It has such an incredible atmosphere - one of those tracks that plunges you into its world - and it builds and swirls you around.

I often think Radiohead is more music of the head than heart but this is all heart.

That industrial thumping is quite hypnotic.

Best 3. Tracks 7, 8 and 4 in that order for me.

I've listened to this album hundreds of times and never noticed the thumping. It's magic

That's the thing with this critical listening.

Cheers @DiscoStu for hosting that. I'm glad it wasn't disco.
