People who don't want to sell a guitar - only trade for another ...why ?

I think there’s a better value proposition in trades. 

Say my Suhr cost £3k new. 

I could trade with someone who’s guitar cost £3k new. 

If I sold the Suhr for £2k, I’d have to find another £1k to buy a new guitar.

Or you could buy a secondhand example of the "new" guitar for £2k.
