Hi all. I’m Andy. Been playing 34 years but never been on a guitar Forum before so apologies if I’ve bumped a load of old threads. I’ve just been searching for posts about kit that I own and sticking my oar in. 

Q1:  Where did you username come from?

It’s my name and initials 

Q2:  Where in the world/country are you?

Cheltenham, Glos

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

To be bigger than the Beatles - just kidding. Getting through a gig without breaking a string, forgetting what I’m playing or dropping a guitar is enough for me. 

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

Hard to say. US Strat combined with ML Deville is nice. Gretsch Broadkaster that rarely comes out ofit’s case. I tend to take the cheaper stuff gigging because catching your headstock on the edge of a cymbal on a small stage is quite unforgiving lol. 

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?

Do it again by steely Dan. It used to give me goosebumps as a kid because I thought it was creepy. There’s so many great tunes, but if I had to pick one this song always springs to mind.

Hello, my username ( Clarion ) comes from being part of a duo called Clarion Call many years ago. Much like my entire guitar-playing career it didn't get off the ground. I'm David, a young 60 and in the UK home counties. I also play drums (started as a punk drummer in '77) and write/record at home

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?  Just for one person in the crowd to 'get it'

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?   My Finlayson electro-acoustic

I have two children - so at the moment ten min quiet to practice would be a start!

To be fair that into doesn’t tell you that much does it… bass player, normally found on basschat. Too much gear and no idea….

It's a part combination of my first and last names

I'm in rural East Sussex

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

To understand it all a bit more (I'm not holding my breath though). To play better (see previous comment)

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

Best as in what it's worth or best sounding? I have a few nice things but my favourite (sounding/playing) guitar is a  cheap Japanese Tele bought many years ago. 

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?

I don't have a #1 TBH. My playlist are genre and time trips. If it's got a half decent beat I'll probably like it.

Hi all. New member here. Ias active on TGP for a few years starting in 2008, but lately haven't done much guitar forum-ing. Mostly checking guitar culture out on Socials. But I miss the interaction.

Nickname based on my surname.

Q2:  Where in the world/country are you?

I'm a NYC ex-pat who lives in London. I've been here 2 years.

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

Start playing with others regularly. (Would love to do a progressive rock/fusion-y improv type thing.)

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

My best piece of gear is a lie I tell myself to justify buying one more guitar or amp.

Hi everyone,

My real name.

Q2:  Where in the world/country are you?

North London, but I'm from North Yorkshire.

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

To finish and release more music.

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

Tokai Super Edition strat.
  Not the flashiest bit of kit, but I bought it some years ago from a friend who'd had a new bridge and tuners fitted and it's never    failed to be inspiring.

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?

I can't choose as I tend to get obsessed with something different every other day.
  As I write this I'm listening to Spit Up by Royce Wood Junior which is superb - he really knows how to cut a deep groove.
