Hi All,

I've been browsing the classifieds for awhile and decided it was time to join!  I'm a metal head originally from NZ now in the UK.   I've mellowed a bit with age.  I now find myself equally enamored with what I used to call old man guitars (teles, strats) as I am with super-strat, headless, 7/8 string monstrosities

Case in point;

Q1:  Where did you username come from?

My name is Mark, but I'm from NZ so it sounds more like Maak when I say it

Q2:  Where in the world/country are you?

I'm in London, UK 

Q3:  What's your main musical ambition?

I'd love to know enough theory to be able to do improv solo

Q4:  Your "best" bit of gear - just the one?

My DIY rat, which I almost never use.  But I built it myself (including the custom etching) so I would be very sad if it went missing;

Q5:  Your #1 ever track - again, just the one?

1) Username: been in use for years. Can't remember how it came about.
2) Lincolnshire (at the moment; I've lived all over).
3) Continue to record/release noisy rock and roll even though I'm too old!
4) Best bit of gear at the moment is Traynor TS25 head (converted from combo). Sounds bonkers through 1960 cab.
5) Let's go for biggest influence on my playing: Dragoon by Bitch Magnet.

I'm a 50-something father of one (and two cats). Having been told all my life "You're tone deaf" I recently found out I'm not.... I just technically can't sing. So as I'd always wanted to play guitar... I gave it a crack and here we are.

1) My actual name is Miles... And when I was younger, I was a (mediocre) climber. On my first ever winter climb (in Scotland) we got hit by a small avalanche and fell a couple of hundred feet back down the gulley we'd been climbing. Somehow we all escaped injury,and as we picked ourselves up, someone said "I think we got a few airmiles points there...."
2) Originally from Leicester, now living in Twickenham
3) Having only started playing in my 50s (pre-Covid!) My ambitions are simply to get good enough to fit in in jams and enjoy the social side of music.
4) Tough one.... but as my Barefaced Upsetter cab is glorious and the one thing I  have that has nothing I'd change... I'll go with that

5) That's almost an unfair question.... But right now, I'm haunted by Ry Cooder's slide playing on Sister Morphine so I'll go with that.

Probably me. 

Best guess: I flagged something listed in the forum classified advertisements that was not entirely what it purported to be.

Eliminating counterfeit items from the listing sections is the job of the Moderation team but, by their own admission, they do not always spot every occurrence.

I simply gave 'em a nudge.

I shall leave it to you to imagine what sort of person could possibly object to deletion for breach of the No Fakes policy.
