    Love a bit of Supergrass.

Here's a gift to all you guitarists.

I also really love Late In The Day, such a beautiful chord progression.
Oh my word, what an absolute gent he is.

In the highly unlikely event his songs tank, Gaz could supplement his income as a teacher. Really great inclusive and humble communication.

    thanks @UnclePsychosis !!!

Last night someone sent me a still of the bass player because they looked like me and I was honestly confused at first. I don't think I can watch it, one of us will die (depending which of us is the dopleganger)

Was brilliant.  Fantastic example of what some blokes with instruments and great songs can do.

Excellent stuff. That Tele is not tempering my utterly lust for WRHBs either, though someone needs to clean his fretboard..!

Periodically I forget how much I like Supergrass. Every time I rediscover them is a treat.

Underrated. Up there with bands like Suede, especially with their darker tunes.

The bass/drums are also really good. Plus the backing vocals!

Listening to them recently I realise that Mick Quinn, the bass player, was a huge, but unconcious, influence on my own bass playing. He's a monster and so is the drummer. Add in Gav's songwriting and its no wonder they're good.

Watched them on iplayer, yesterday. Thought they were brilliant. Some of the songs - I didn’t know were theirs.. best set I’ve seen so far!
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

In It For The Money is a fucking cracking album and he could really write a song. Some older dude at school gave me that when it came out in like 98 and my first little school band covered Richard III.

As a guitarist/ singer in a three-piece band, I do get a bit defensive about the stripped-back nature of what I do when faced with the modern world of working with backing tracks etc, but seeing Supergrass come on and nail Caught By The Fuzz and have it sound huge with not a single pre-recorded vocal or note validated everything I have ever said about live music.

(Yes, I know they are a quartet with keys, but my point stands.)

Pretty much my only pop claim to fame is that I knew the keys player Rob at uni.

    That is all.

Saw Gaz Coombes in Kingston on Friday night. Another cracking gig, great playing and sound. Also TFBs very own @St_Hubbins on bass and guitar duties. Well played sir..

GC's new album is so worth and listen and doing well in the midweek charts.

Thanks Tom, appreciate the kind words - good see you after the gig. And also good to see the very fine @DrCornelius at the Salisbury show not long ago. Glad you are digging the new album, it was a real honour to work on it. Fingers crossed for a decent chart entry on Friday!

There was an interview with him on the radio on Monday. He has a 19-year old child.

That can't be right, he's not that much older himself, surely.
