Hamilton won't get penalised. It was nothing.

Vettel might like to go to Merc but I'm not convinced Ham would leave for Ferrari, unless he really wants to win in a red car, but i'm not convinced he's that guy.

I don't see why Renault would want the fairly-average Wehrlein, when they could have Kubica or Alonso instead. Equally, I don't know why *anyone* would want Palmer.

Yeah, but I thought they had new owners? Either way there's gotta be a better pay driver than Palmer. He was more than a second slower than Hulk in Q2 today, in conditions that only ever emphasise the quality of the driver.

Palmer has been slow all season long. Be surprised to see him with an F1 seat next year.

The Hulk had all the new upgrades including a new floor ... not sure if they are worth a second but that would be some of it. Its baffling as in GP2 he was champion with the highest points score ever so he has some talent.

And again in FP2. The Mercs have the measure of the Ferraris.
I bet Hamilton and Vettel will be on the front row.

Look like we both dipped out, eh? :s

Sainz to Renault as early as next week?

    https://www.f1today.net/en/news/f1/229033/sainz-set-to-replace-palmer-at-renault-in-hungary-as-red-bull-sever-ties-report ;

Obviously he's a better driver than Palmer, but that will leave them with an interesting decision to make for next year between him, Alonso and possible RK . Presumably Sainz wouldn't want to leave RB/TR for a 6-month contract.

    Yep.

Palmer has only himself to blame. Not sure he's really an F1 driver. Saintz is pretty average though and his constant moaning destabilises teams.

Indeed. Sometimes the money isn't enough, eh?

Verstappen's stock has just risen again, in my opinion. The chap is wise beyond his years.

    Hahaha, it's about time!!

Bit of a turnaround actually as it was Mercedes having trouble with tyres previously so Ferrari were very marginal especially considering they had a longer first stint due to the safety car neutralising the pace and one less lap due to reforming. Should be an awesome race to AD now as with 10 races gone we're back to square one, Mercs resources proving so far they have the upper hand with in season development.

My head said brake, but my heart cried never.

Lol!! I do actually have a soft spot for Hungary due to Mansell and Senna in 1989, plus it's like the poor stepchild of F1 too.

I can only imagine that it's supported by the Hungarian government, cos it would never make it as an F1 track otherwise!

In other news, how is Kvyat still in a seat making the same mistakes as he was a year ago? Does he bring oodles of cash? Does Mateschitz need any more cash?

I've got to admit I loved Max's radio "Oh, he wants to play bumper cars". As he gave Vettel a taste of his own medicine.
Shot through the heart, and you’re to blame, you give love a bad name. Not to mention archery tuition.

Yep .. Bottas pushed Vettel hard forcing Vettel into punishing his tyres .. he'd flat-spotted the one that went bang. More of this type of racing would be welcome.
