That guy has a Youtube channel where he shows his conversions. Personally I think a lot of them are awesome, but there are some classic cars where the sound of the engine is an important part of why they've become classics:

That's my mate, Moggy. My brother's the cameraman. :#

@blobb wow that's awesome! I'm a huge fan of what they do as a business and the way they present themselves on Youtube they just come across as a lovely team with a real passion for the vehicles.
He's madder than that in real life.

    I concur. I like mine a lot.

Ha!  You weren't in Winchester a week ago Saturday were you?  I was admiring one exactly the same!
Funnily enough, I saw one today, was thinking what a nice looking blue.

I would be interested to see what designers could do with a 60s Morris Minor Traveller (station wagon with the wooden frame) or a mid-60s Ford Anglia.  More realistically though, I think an electric version of the Trabant 601 made to look exactly like the original and with the same lightweight composite body panels would definitely be a car for the people.

My current car is a Fiat 124 Spider (ok it's an MX5 underneath). Cracking little car alas now discontinued.

    That’s what I’ve got!

Think the idea is Japanese precision engineering underneath, with a bit of Italian flair in the body styling.

absolutely love it - and, touch wood, but for the infotainment system, it’s been cheap to run and very reliable.

I'd choose one of these over the MX5 all day long. Just so much better looking in my opinion. Yours is lovely @JerkMoans especially with the tan leather seats.

When I stop shooting weddings (and thus no longer need the space), I plan to get something like this!

How old does a car have to be before its officially a classic?
HMRC say 15 years with a market value of 15k

    DVLA say 40 years,

    Insurance all say different things,

    Any thoughts?

    Wikipedia?

There are loads of definitions, from 15 years...

to 40 years due to that being exempt from VED.

I picked the one in the middle lol

My Peugeot 306 GTi6 is on a classic insurance policy. They still seem like a fairly modern car to me but it's from 1998 so coming up 26 years old

I think I will wait for the big 40 before designating mine a classic, if it makes it that far, its proving to be a bit of a money pit at the moment.

    Nice.

    What's under the dust cover?
If I remember correctly, a Mercedes Pagoda SL. Not mine - my A110 was in storage for a while. There was a Dodge Viper, a special edition Huracan, and a Spyker there too, among others.

Huge fan of the ND/Fiata here. I haven't driven the Fiat version but had a couple of trips in the Mazda and it's just the perfect little 2 seater.

the Barchetta was a nice little thing ......maybe 15 years old now ......first little fiat 2 seat convertible since the x19
Best little Italian 2 seat convertible of the last  decades without getting seriously exotic was the GTV Spyder of 25 years ago ;really great little car and the hardtop v6 3 litre was a corker

Ah, very cool. I do like a viper. Don't know if I'd actually choose one right enough.

    It was very yellow.

The Spyker was lovely - tiny, ornate, and one of the loudest things I've ever heard.
