    Slayer - Raining Blood
Morbid Angel - Blessed are the Sick
    Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath

5 - Led Zeppelin - Good Times, Bad Times

I could write a top 50 if i tried but these are the songs that have defined some of the most important or influential moments of my life. In my own way i would call them masterpieces in their own right.

  • Agree with all the above and add:

    Master of puppets

Dark side of the moon. Just the whole album.

I also think power of equality is perfect, I wouldn't want a single note changed. Not sure if it's a masterpiece...

    Waterloo sunset

    Good vibrations

A masterpiece for me is something that's so good you forget the artist who wrote/ performed it. The song exists on its own, like it's being beamed to you from another dimension. There aren't any flaws in concept or execution to distract you, but the work still has some humanity.

    I think my list would probably be different every time I was asked. What springs to mind right now is;

    I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - U2
    Dogs - Pink Floyd
    Sweetness Follows - REM
Children in Bloom - Counting Crows

    Private universe - Crowded House
    MR Blue Skye - ELO

Chop Suey - system of a down
How high the moon - Les Paul and Mary Ford
The ninth wave - Kate Bush
    Superstition - Stevie wonder
Day in the life - The Beatles
    Cheap Sunglasses - zz top
Run to the hills - iron maiden

    Shit me, there's loads...
    Never Ever Bloody Anything Ever.
