    Mine still are. The Sturmey Archer 3-speed box is a triumph of British engineering. Did you ever see a pushbike at the side of the road with a broken gearbox? And how many people actually serviced their gearboxes? Compare that with the numbers of swanky racing bikes at the side of the road with the chain hanging out of the Derailer mechanism.
